Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of the Grammar Coach browser extension, website, and API (together, the “Service”). By installing or using the Service you agree to them.
The Service
Grammar Coach analyses text you type and suggests corrections with explanations. Suggestions are generated by a language model and will sometimes be wrong. You are responsible for what you write and for reviewing any suggestion before accepting it. Do not rely on the Service where an error would cause legal, medical, financial, or safety harm.
Accounts
You need an account to use the Service. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity under your account. You must be at least 13 years old.
Plans and billing
- Free — 25 checks per day, no charge.
- Pro — $6 per month, 500 checks per day.
Pro is billed monthly in advance and renews automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from your account page; you keep Pro until the end of the period you have already paid for, and are not charged again. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial months, but if the Service was materially broken for you, email us and we will make it right.
Daily limits reset at midnight UTC. They exist to bound our costs; hitting one pauses checking until the next day and never generates an additional charge.
We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice to the email on your account. Continuing to use a paid plan after that constitutes acceptance.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Circumvent usage limits, or access the API other than through the extension
- Resell the Service or use it to build a competing product
- Submit content you have no right to process
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the Service
We may suspend accounts that do these things.
Your content
You keep all rights to what you write. You grant us only the narrow permission needed to process a check and return corrections. What we retain is described in theprivacy policy.
Availability
The Service is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. It is a small independent product with no uptime guarantee. We may change or discontinue features, and will give reasonable notice before discontinuing a paid plan.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including anything arising from an incorrect suggestion.
Termination
You may stop using the Service and delete your data at any time. We may terminate an account for breach of these terms, and will refund any unused prepaid portion unless the breach was fraud or abuse.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified by email or in the extension before taking effect.
